There are ongoing restorations inside and outside my favorite Parisian church, the magnificent Saint Eustache, just a few steps from here. The vast spaces offer rest from the outside world’s turmoil, if simply to wander in amazement in the ever-changing light, or to hear a free weekly concert on the historic organ, as the sound blasts unhindered across space under the highest vaulted ceiling in France, soaring higher even than Notre Dame.
