This morning, in a scramble to prepare for an early phone call, I rushed from the bathroom to start dressing, then suddenly remembered I had forgotten something.
“Damn, I forgot to put on my deodorant!” Back I went to remedy the important step.
I smiled, recalling Horowitz’s aphorism, as transferred to my situation:
At first, I would know it.
Then we can assume Jacques would know it.
By the time I finished at the gym, the world would know it!
